Alabama, Amerika Birleşik Devletleri güneyinde, Meksika Körfezi’nin kuzeyinde yer alan bir eyalettir. Eyaletin batısında Mississippi Nehri yer almaktadır. Yaklaşık 5 milyon kişinin yaşadığı eyaletin başketi Montgomery kentidir. University of Alabama, Alabama eyaletinin Tuscaloosa kentinin merkezinde yer almaktadır. Üniversite, Alabama’nın önde gelen kentlerinden Birmingham ve başkent Montgomery’e yakın mesafede konumlanmıştır. Eyalette genel olarak soğuk ve ılıman iklim hakimdir. Yıl boyunca sık sık yağış görülebilmektedir.
University of Alabama 1831 yılında kurulmuş, asırlık eğitim geleneğine sahip Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’nin önde gelen devlet üniversitelerinden biridir. University of Alabama, öğrencilerin bireysel gelişimlerini üst seviyelere taşıyabilmelerini sağlayacak parlak ve yaratıcı kampüs ortamıyla tam anlamıyla bir öğretim ve araştırma merkezi olma özelliğine sahiptir. Okul, ülkedeki en iyi 50 devlet üniversitesinden biri ve aynı zamanda eyaletin en eski devlet üniversitesidir.
5 km2’likkampüs alanıyla öğrencileri özgür ve ferah bir ortam sunan okul aynı zamanda alanında uzman profesörler ve eğitim kadrosuyla eğitim vermekte, eğitim geleneğini sürdürmektedir. University of Alabama 500’ün üzerinde aktif öğrenci organizasyonları ve sosyal kulüplerle öğrencilere sosyalleşme ve kişisel hedeflerine yeteneklerine göre gelişim gösterme fırsatı tanımaktadır. 2017 yılının sonbahar verilerine göre University of Alabama bünyesinde 40.000’e yakın öğrenciyi barındırmaktadır. Öğrenci dostu ve yardımsever fakülte personeliyle hizmet sunan okul, doğal güzelliğin korunduğu ağaçlarla çevrili geniş ferah kampüs alanına sahiptir. Öğrenciler yeşil alanlarda dinlenip, sosyalleşebilirler. Aynı zamanda okulda tenis kortları ve spor alanları da bulunmaktadır.
